Another MMA celebrity coming to Cambodia? Who is he?
Not a celebrity….yet! Hehe! Just needs a few more wins and will hopefully (fingers crossed) have a good chance of getting into the UFC.

If you really want to get into the UFC do you think training in Phnom Penh is the thing to do?

govt agencies in cambo go around with video cameras documenting law violations, regarding taxes, etc. If we knew what they were saying to each other, that was probably what was going on.

Article on Muay Thai in Thailand. A humbling experience:

Mastering Muay Thai in Phuket: From an East London gym to a holiday island in Thailand
...Our tête-à-tête becomes a blur of body hits and controlled aggression (him) and missed punches and flailing kicks (me). Tup follows me round the ring, casually grinning and landing blows at will. The last few moments feel a little like facing down E Honda's thunderous Hundred Hand Slap from Street Fighter II. And then, my humiliation is over. My body isn't bruised, but my pride is. I step out of the ring, head bowed and humbled.

The author mentions his instructor is Alex Reid.

Funny story: the first week Alex arrived years ago at tiger, when the camp was in its infancy, he apparently was shaving all his body hair. The trainers and sparring partners were complaining of razor burn from clinching and grappling. The trainers and fighters were like wtf is that about? :unknown:

Since I didn’t know who he was, I told him that he’d better let his body hair grow out or shave all his body hair freshly before each training session. I don’t know which option he chose since I was flying back and forth between Phuket and Bangkok, where I was training/testing instructors, referees and prospective fighters for the muay thai council and mti.

Years later I read Katie Price describing some of Alex’s more “freaky” habits (strap-ons, fisting, etc). Lol, it reminded me of the razor burn issue. %)

I do remember he was actually a really nice guy.
