Meeting people in Phnom Penh?
Meeting people in Phnom Penh?
Where can one meet people for friendship in Phnom Penh? What are the alternatives for singles who didn't come here to be alone? Thank you.

Okay, in order to help, let's try and help you. What are you looking for, my friend? You want drinking buddies, or do you want people to sit and discuss Chaucer with? You want to get high, or not? So you're single, but don't want to "be alone"? You want company for free or are you happy to pay for it? What part of town do you reside (roughly) and how far are you willing to travel? Most importantly, are you a Cheap Charlie?
Once we can clear these small hurdles, Mr. Herk, the members will whittle themselves down to helpers or non-helpers.
NB: PRO TIP - the closer you are to Riverside, the easier it is to find friends

Firiends? You gotta be kidding. Drunks, mongers and people after a free beer maybe. You need to find palces freequested by sane, social intellectual people you can have a conversation with . good luck

Two alternatives,,, bring a dog and your shadow with you . Both will be your best friend, although I wouldn't put too much trust in your dog..
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

But then again I hear there is a running club in town
Always "hope" but never "expect".

Friends by the river.
Re: meeting people in pp
These reoccurring questions about how to meet new friends in a foreign country have always puzzled me.
Do the OPs have no friends back home? Have they never met and formed friendships with new people after moving home, work or when partaking in a new, or even old, hobby?
There is evidence to suggest that social media take some of the blame but seriously, I just don’t get it. Do people really lack the basic social skills connected with meeting/chatting with work colleagues or people you meet?
If they are that introverted one must surely wonder how they came to be so far away from there snug little comfort zone in the first place.

Join Phnom Penh expats on facebook and see what events interest you. Quiz nights are usually good for meeting a range of people, but there are all sorts of hobby groups.
Then go along to the event and talk to people and make some friends.
