Meat balls or cutlets ????
Meat balls or cutlets ????
Now I'm not a native English speaker and I was wondering which English term is correct for the following:
Are these "Meat Balls" or are these "Cutlets" ????? (I personally don't see "balls" there)
Are these "Meat Balls" or are these "Cutlets" ????? (I personally don't see "balls" there)
Und der Haifisch der hat Tränen
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht
In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht
In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist

Aussies call them "rissoles".
I am sooooo very sorry if you can't understand or appreciate my sarcastic facetiousness.

I'd go with that, a rissole is covered in breadcrumbs or something whereas a patty has no cover.chkwoot wrote:Aussies call them "rissoles".
From wiki -
A rissole is a small croquette, enclosed in pastry or rolled in breadcrumbs, usually baked or deep fried.
A patty, in American, Australian and New Zealand English, is a flattened, usually round, serving of ground meat or meat alternatives. The meat is compacted and shaped, cooked, and served

Might depend on the meat. Australian - lamb rissole vs chicken pattie, at least in the west.

And what about fish cakes ? If they were made of fish, that's what I would call them.StroppyChops wrote:Might depend on the meat. Australian - lamb rissole vs chicken pattie, at least in the west.
