Maternity Clinic (Toul Kouk)

Post by camboguy6 »

Hi, I am a first-time dad to be looking for reviews on a maternity clinic near TK. Can I get some reviews of mid-range (price) clinics that can handle all the visits (ultrasound, monthly, & delivery). It would be great if you can give me some examples of prices (i.e., ultrasound, monthly, etc).

Hi,

Mearda Clinic is by far the best (in my opinion).

Our daughter was born there three years ago and our experience was great. It helps that it is run by Ty Sovannaroth, who is widely regarded as one of the best Obstetrician-gynaecologists in Cambodia. From memory, the whole package, from pre-natal check-ups, scans, delivery, vaccines, 4 nights stay, and so on, was about $3k. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

Always "hope" but never "expect".

Those clinics love a good C section even if it’s not needed. More $$$.

I know two couples who were pushed into a C.

Mearda has mixed reviews online, do you remember their prices?

Nothing beats the Royal Phnom Penh in my honest opinion. Dr Mu Mu Win (from Myanmar) she is really good. My daughter was born there and I couldn't fault them. International standard, all the midwives in the delivery room were Thai and were very professional. I don't remember the exact cost but it would have been around 3-4k.

I agree and both our sons were born there. If you use their package deal and have natural childbirth its actually fairly reasonable. I quick phone call would give you current prices. I believe its $2200 (that does not include the monthly checkups/tests) for natural birth.

Dr Mu Mu is a solid doctor as is Dr Heng Rany (who is Khmer and my wife chose her as her doctor based on ability to communicate). They used to have two US board certified Thai doctors - one has now fully retired I believe but Dr. Damrong Pattanumotana is still there. We saw both Dr Mu Mu and Dr Pattanumotana once or twice and were satisfied. The other Thai doctor that retired actually delivered my 1st son and he was excellent. Dr Rany delivered our 2nd with equally positive results.

IMO, its your best choice. You can find cheaper, but how much quality are you willing to sacrifice?
