Does google maps work well in PP? If not, are there better apps to use?

Singapore and especially MY, Waze is usually recommended.

i think waze is that traffic routing app, responsible for turning quiet residential streets where kids could play, into dangerous shortcut rat-runs

Waze is Google.
Google have the best data in terms of places of interest and directions. It's not their fault street numbers are issued chronologically.

I use WAZE or Google MAPS. WAZE is great as users can update the app about traffic slow downs, accidents, where cops are setup up, construction, etc. in real-time. it is handy. but here, where not many use it, I see no difference with it compared to Google Maps.

I say Waze is Google because Google owns it. Their crowed sourced data + live crowd sourced free data. I tired it here but didn't like the routing ui.

City maps 2 go.

Works for me cos you can download the map in a wifi spot and then use navigation in off line mode.

Just being a tourist i dont have a local sim card.
