What I notice about most of these "retreats" is that they are built in scrub, that is, land that has already been cleared of forest.

Some that I see on booking dot com are really just in villages with a few trees around.
When I need advice about life, I just check in here.

If it's in a plantation, that means all the trees are planted in rows, and they are all the same type of tree.
It's an old style Cambodian plantation, add to that cashew plantations aren't that neat.

But yes, most trees there are cashews.

Try Rainbow Lodge on the Tatai River,Tatai
Accessible only by boat
All inclusive and reasonably cheap
Excellent food and location

It would be nice to find wild nature where the wild plants are still growing.

A village or a plantation will not have that.
