I'm still looking forward to the day that:
a) you actually contribute to the forum, and
b) we find out who's sock puppet you are (although it's not hard to guess).

Stroppy, no offense intended, but that happened to my friend with a cleaner was very bad. On a recommendation.

It's your mother's way of saying be careful.

I do not know what a sock puppet is. I am only one single person on one single forum. Right here.

If you need help, just let me know.

It was my humor, but some people think I am arrogant. No offense. Use your own judgement and gut feeling.

I am sorry I have not contributed to you, but you seem busy.

Take care.

Obviously that is outrageous but I also learnt one thing in Cambodia about staff. No matter what you pay them, no matter how good the conditions of their employment, they'll still be lazy, dishonest and steal.

What we learned (earlier) is that no matter what rate you negotiate, give it a week and they'll ask for double - when you flat out refuse, they tell you you're expected, nay REQUIRED, to split the difference and give them a 50% pay rise - because that's how negotiating works.

We've also found that good cleaners who have been working at stupidly high rates for NGOers with a cleaner allowance are confused when 'their family' 'goes home' and they are stuck looking at jobs that pay the real rate.

I know we get a lot of enjoyment from the Cambodia Parent Network "please take my nanny/security guy/housekeeper" ads, but for crying out loud, ain't nobody got time for this!

So much bullshit in this thread. I'll recommend you the best cleaner in the city if u pm me. She does my place once a week while I'm at work, has her own set of keys, and charges 8 bucks a pop. Totally worth it.
