Well I've known him since he was a pup and only in the last year was I able to touch him at all, while my son has been taking him for walks for about 5 years. To understand why he '' nipped '' you in the face, he is establishing that he is the leader of the pack and is putting you in your place . I have seen it happen when visitors, usually happens with kids. that have come to visit on the farm, even when my dogs were very gentle and friendly.
