Long Term Visa Questions

Ask us anything. Cambodia Expats Online has a huge community of long-term expats that can answer any question you may have about life in Cambodia. Have some questions you want to ask before you move to Cambodia? Ask them here. Our community can also answer any questions you have about how to find a job or what kind of work is available for expats in Cambodia, whether you're looking for info about Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or anywhere else in the Kingdom. You're also welcome to ask about visa and work permit questions as well, as the immigration rules change often, especially since COVID-19. Don't be shy, ask CEO's community anything!

cannabistourist - it's gotten harder already. It may be easy if you're willing to work some job half-assed that you really don't want to do and live in a place that isn't your first choice, perhaps. ... Anchor Moy, they don't have a farm and they are there to stay.

Yes, I'm a mad planner, I admit it but a year goes by fast.

Has anyone ever gotten a work permit for doing unpaid volunteer work?

I'm gonna sound like gavinmac ;) but I hadn't asked anyone to predict conditions for the retirement option in 14 months but for alternatives to it based on what we know today.

I am sorry but I feel so weird that some people even think about strategy to stay in Cambodia when it's so easy to stay here without thinking. Even working without work permit or tourist visa. So just relax, it's not USA or shit EU !
you know this how?
are you saying you are in KOW or have been lately?

Until about a year ago it was simple to stay as long as you wanted without jumping through hoops (employment letter, work permit) but now it's only that easy if you're over 55 and get an ER EOS.

ANYBODY can have the first 1 year extension on ordinary visa without problems, so why people are finding problems where they aren't ?

It seems that you don't know Thailand ! If you think that it's difficult to stay in Cambodia you really should not even try to go to Thailand !

Not any more. You can get an EG with no docs but only for a maximum 6 months. For all EB extensions you need an employment letter and work permit.

I have read everywhere that documents are only required for the second year, not the first.
