Legit place to buy a suitcase in Phnom Penh?

Hi,

I wanna buy a proper, quality suitcase that is no fake and does not come at double the MSRP. Checked out Samsonite in Exchange square but suitcases that would set you back 250 USD in Europe are 500 over there.

Any recommendations?

A lot of Chinese are buying those extra large suitcases which has been pushing up the prices....

Central and Orrusay markets are popular spots for suitcases and pretty much everything...(including kitchen sinks)

Here's my 25-year- old Samsonite.... Solid as a leatherback turtle.... The latch is broken on one side...nothing that a little wrapping with electric tape won't solve... Original Samsonite key and copy included...Wheels are fine.... Best offer...

Your only choices as far as I know are original Samsonite for a hefty tag, or copies everywhere else.

So you think the stuff they sell at Central Mall/Travel Hub is not legit? There is a Rimowa store in Vattanac tower but those are definitely out of my price range.

OP - you titled the thread as where to buy a legit suitcase. What you are really asking is where can I buy an international high brand suitcase for cheap. Preferably at or below what they normally cost elsewhere in the world.

The short answer is, you can’t.

The Kingdom of Wonder does not manufacture high end suitcases. Anything not locally produced has an importation cost and a import tax on top of that. It’s also not a big distribution hub like Thailand or Hong Kong so no volume pricing.

Please correct me if I’m mistaken.

And yes, I’ve combed through the above places named Russian, Central, etc., when my suitcase was abused beyond redemption by the airline baggage gorillas.
