I would try to get a discoutn on the airfield at check-out. Take 900 cash with you and play stupid, when going to immigration, the place who stamps your passport out and take fingerprints, there is a sign "nothing to pay here", put 300 in your passport and try your luck, useally there are 2 guys after him, where you actually have to pay the overstay. If the three guys agree between them, all get 100. Might work, did it before already, but with only couple of days overstay. Go early to catch your plane, because you might loose time trying it. Of cours it is illegal but all are corrupt at he airport, really, ALL !!

I've been to the Department of Immigration quite a few times and the cars you will see there parked... Amazing. Hard to believe you're entering government grounds.

I seriously doubt the guys & girls @ Pochentong, who are corrupt without doubt, will budge for just 100 bucks each when the original sum is 900$. But I'm happy to be corrected by someone who managed to do it.

A couple of days overstay is no big deal. Anything over 30 days is. I think your advice about the "airfield" is terrible and would only result in more problems for the overstayer.

The chances of getting bent over the table at the airport and arrested for bribery would be more serious than getting deported.

a 100$ pocketed VS the opportunity to squeeze 900$ + bribery charge extra money + looking good to upper management + extra squeezed money while in immigration cells, one would be naive to think it will go smoothly with a folded Franklin with a wink ^^

Yes, trying to bribe someone with less money than what you owe is counterproductive for the payee.

And a great way to miss your flight.

Visas are cheap, overstaying is expensive. Do the maths...
