To kill or not to kill?

Post by vladimir »

So I get home last night, and Kmal, our female cat is limping badly, and wifey tells me she thinks the senile Chinese bitch who lives opposite us kicked the cat.

Apparently she told my wife she hates cats, and she usually puts them in plastic bags to kill them. Gotta love Chinese culture and the capacity for cruelty.

I thought better of it than to go there last night, because I don't think I'd like Prey Sar, I was very angry, but this morning went over there and told the granddaughter that if the old cow touches any of my cats, she can expect the same in return, in no uncertain terms.

I really get annoyed with people who are cruel to animals, and I know this old cow is a bit crazy, but there are some things that just over-ride the desire for peace with the neigbours at any cost.
Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right? ;)

Definitely kill. Put a plastic bag over the old sow's head.

Constantly amazed by Khmer who want to come and pat (smack at in a confused manner) our dog and will then turn around and viciously kick any random dog walking past.

I caught my neighbour some time back trying to antaganise my dogs. I was gardening or what not just out of sight of my neighbour who was standing on his side of the wall standing on a chair with a bamboo stick trying to get them started . I watched him for about a minute and then stepped out so he could see me . He went red and started to laugh.
In the past I told them to leave them alone and to ignore them. They don't bark much, and only when someone knocks on the gate. I have heard them say how aggressive they are which they are not. They are Cambodian 7 days adventist and think dogs are unclean.

So yes they can be aggressive if you threaten them with a stick. Anyway he hasn't looked me in the eye since then a big lost of face.
The sooner I can add 30cm of brick work along side wall the better.

Tough luck. Such a small percentage of the population and they have to live next door.

This also happens with young babies. "oh there's a cute baby asleep, lets pull its ear and tweak its cheek"

Cambodians and their relationship with animals........I remember that guy in Siem Reap......he was running around with a long pole and razor blade attached to it. With that thing he was hitting dogs and cats.
Then I had this crazy neighbor who ripped out his dogs canines with a pair of pincers ......

Let's not generalise...There are people who are cruel towards animals worldwide, and not all Cambodians are cruel to animals.

True, BUT:

-In a lot of countries you can and will get prosecuted for animal cruelty,

-in a lot of countries, people are taught not to be cruel to animals; this does not appear to be the case here,

-what shocks me here is the causal cruelty. A monk can kick the shit out of a dog, just like that, and the other monks think it is funny.
