Wondering if anyone knows if this is true or not? Im taking my daughters for a 3 week holiday to the uk end of this month. Someone just informed me that i need a letter from immigration to take them on holiday without their mother. I already took them to Vietnam without any bother at all so......?????

Re: Kiddies.
You supplied no details.
What is your nationality?
What passports do your daughters have?
How old are they?

Re: Kiddies.
At KNY one of my sons and I flew to Thailand and back without issues. He flew on an Oz passport with a K visa already in the passport. Also, no issues returning through Don Muang.

Re: Kiddies.
If the UK is like Australia, any potential problem will be at the UK end - you'll possibly need a statutory declaration from the mother giving her permission for the child to travel without her.
Edit: Actually (from memory) this may be a Hague Convention requirement, but I'm also talking out my vent on this one based on an experience of a decade ago.

Re: Kiddies.
To apply for an Australian passport the child needs written consent from both parents or a federal court order.
Travel does not need consent from both parents however anyone with parental responsibility can apply to have the child listed on the "no flight register" with the federal police.

Re: Kiddies.
My ex tried to travel overseas with my 14 year-old daughter for a planned holiday - I got a call from AFP at the airport asking if I consented to that travel, before they'd release her to the flight.Digg3r wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2017 9:01 am To apply for an Australian passport the child needs written consent from both parents or a federal court order.

Presumably then your daughter was on the flight watch list.
