Kep

Post by Ellfun »

I have potentially found an English teaching job in Kep. This is my first time to Cambodia and teaching English. I'm 31 year old Australian female and travelling on my own. Are there many expats in this region? Any advice on accommodation? Pros & Cons of the area?

Thanks.

Some expats in the area (though more in Kampot - which is a few miles up the road). Kep is a lovely place but a bit quiet for most people's tastes. Make sure that wherever you rent is very physically secure - to avoid chances of burglary.

Kep is very quiet, u will do all ur shopping in Kampot or Shv, ( kep does not even have a mini mart) but has a daily local market and some very overpriced restaurants near the crab market, small man made beach and lovely views from the mtn and Rabbit island off shore

MY gf sister's lives and runs a restaurant there an she sends both her kids to school in Kampot (2 1/2 and 4year old ), 30-45 minutes by car, so check out the school.
Not many places to rent

That would be interesting, yes. Apparently it was the place to go for the royals and other well-to-do's.

John Bingham may have something.
