Immigration Detention
Hi, i believe my son is being held in Immigration Detention for overstaying his visa and has been for the last week. I am in Australia and am very concerned for him. Please can anyone give me information as to how to find out? Who can I get in touch with regards if this is so or any help would be appreciated.

if they dont know, they will find out for you.

I wish you the best, this situation must be stressful. Do you think that he overstayed for a long time ? Usually it's not difficult to clear the situation if you have money, do you know if he had enough cash with him ?

Why do you believe he is in immigration detention? Did he tell you he was going to the immigration department to turn himself in?Chilliepepper wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 7:29 am Hi, i believe my son is being held in Immigration Detention for overstaying his visa and has been for the last week. They don't proactively arrest non-homeless overstayers.
