IMO a front disk is a must and the Wave also has a replaceable oil filter where the Dream does not! Honda dream 1960,s technology TODAY! :D

I've run a Yamaha Jupiter for the last three years and has been really good!

Those wave125 are pretty slim pickings out here though mate, can't even find a newish one on khmer24. You might have to drive one here from Trat. :( no I'm sure you can source one in PP but may have to dig a bit and I wouldn't be surprised if they're over 2k with taxes.
Also I can score you a Smash V 2014 for cheap, AK87 approves!

HONDA Vietnam website with bikes and prices in English.
https://translate.googleusercontent.com ... wcAKK4yH-A

Bog standard Wave Alpha 100 cc is priced from 16.99 million VND (746.44738USD).

The new SH125i / 150i CBS and the SH125i / 150i ABS look good. Water cooled fuel injection. $2,262 up though!

Nobody buys that crap out here! Even the khmers don't, except for the cheap MSX since it's 35-50% of the original. I don't think Jamie is so skint to have to buy a cheap chinese copy! I sure he's smart enough to buy a thai-made or NCX assembled bike.

They were $400 new in Vietnam 3 years ago. Ok if your only here for a year. Maybe able to sell for $100 before you leave )

Gots to pay your taxes out here (+400-650$) for the small bikes. The sh150i is a nice bike, kinda of a juiced up airblade. You can find afew random stolen ones then imported into the PP bike shops for around 2k$.
Lolz look at the price of that imported 300cc sh, makes the Thai and Khmer taxes seem like nothing!
Even KTM dukes that use to sell for 250kbaht are going for 130k now in Thailand, cheaper than Cambodia. Anyways, off topic

I remember some foreign guy in SHV that imported some of these chinese waves and clicks, took him nearly a year to sell them. Guaranteed the only buyers were foreigners!

Why are you buying the bike? Is it for you, or one of your girlfriends? If I'm not mistaken, your only here 4 months per year or so, so you should consider bike storage and all that. A drained battery every time you get back, corrosion (unless you properly drain fuel and prep the carb). Seems like a lot of trouble if not being driven year round. Rental or used might be a better alternative.

Good point! I'm sure if it was for a gf he would be asking about zoomers or scoopys though! :D I've gone through this many a times when going back home for a few months every year, coming back to a bike covered in grime even when locked in a shed, half flat tires that give out when filled up, dead battery like you mentioned, shit gas etc. Although if you're not lackadaisical like me it's easily preventable if you buy a biike cover and pull the battery out, and better yet store it inside. I'd say eight months is the cutoff point, if you're here longer it's worth it to keep the bike and the bother of finding some storage, if not buy used and sell or just rent. Then again I paid six months rent on my place this year while away travelling just cause I was too lazy to sell or put in storage all my shite (except one MSX I sold off).
