It sounds like the changes are dramatic. Sihanoukville always had so much vacant land especially near the coast. The drive from the Lions to the back of town was a delight. Is Pearl City still empty and what of the land at the far end of Occateul where the golf course was to be?
It does sound like a tragedy for ordinary Khmers, we know that Kompong Saom was always the dream holiday destination.

So you claim the Americans would have bombed Thailand if the Thais did not offer masses of their women as prostitutes for their soldiers? Interesting, but do you have any historical evidence for thisvladimir wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2017 7:04 pmsuperferret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2017 3:02 pmOk first of all, America did not do Pattaya, it was the Thais who sold themselves out to the US soldiers to an extent no other nations ever did. Were they forced to prostitute themselves? Of course not.
because the US in fact has and had many military bases in other countries and I only see Pattaya and Angeles. How do you explain that, sound like you're just making stuff up so I'm not even going to argue.

I am pretty sure the Khmers will start to build and live in the suburb's when the time is right.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
