I have some Q's need some A's
So basically, me and my friend are planning to move to cambodia next year, around January/February. We have travelled south east asia a couple of times and both fell in love with Cambodia evey time. So planning on moving there but have no idea where to begin, all the information you find online ia contradicted so would like to speak to genuine expats on here.
1. 12 month multi entry visa, is this easy to obtain, can anybody get one, whats the best way to apply, and how much should it cost?
2. Work permits, same again, are they easy the obtain, can anybody get one, whats the best way to apply and how much should it cost?
3.Other general things i will need/ advice and tips.
Thanks

Hi OP,
You could start here for the visa and work permit questions. Then do a search for other topics. If you've got some specific questions then post away.

There are no 12 month multi entry visas, the only visa you will get is a 30 day one. Whether you are successful in getting an extension or not depends on your documentation and the whims of various officials.
They don't seem too easy to get, I've had one for years but local staff in the office sort it out and I wouldn't have the first clue about how to organize one independently. As far as I know the employer is responsible for organizing these anyway so unless you have your own company you can't get one.2. Cambodia is not the easiest or cheapest country to live in, like it was 2+ years ago...
If ur set on staying, bring min $5,000 for a 4-6 month stay to test the waters..

To provide specific info on visa and work permit you need to provide specific info. Stuff like age, profession / job, job location, company working for etc. The rules seem pretty simple at first sight, but as always the devil is in the detail. You question is so broad its impossible to give an answer, as you can read above. Visa laws also change every now and then (to put it mildly) so every answer you get is (or should be) based on the current situation, and the situation might change so the answer is not a definite answer for you arriving early 2019.DannersUK wrote: ↑Sat Apr 28, 2018 9:56 pm So basically, me and my friend are planning to move to cambodia next year, around January/February. One thing can be said though, if you come to Cambodia, get an ordinary visa when you arrive, not a tourist visa. An ordinary visa has the option of multiple extensions and other benefits like possibility to get a work permit, access to a driving license etc. A tourist visa can only be extended once and it provides no access to these things.
