Golf anyone?

Post by Fernhill »

I recently moved to PP from KL. I am attempting to form a golf society i.e. hackers who are interested to play once a week, preferably during week days. No serious betting! I have been asking in all the sports bars, but there seem to be very few expat golfers in PP. Any golfers both ladies and men out there please contact me here and I'll be in touch. Thank you.

Your best bet would be to go to the courses on the weekend and network with people.

I have a friend who plays, but usually on weekends, he says Phnom Penh has a very good golf course.

Gave my sticks (& everything else) away back in the States. Got tired of paying for storage. I wish I'd dragged 'em back w/me.

Of course, but I've never played well with rental, somebody else's, or new sticks. Not once. If the shafts aren't really stiff I'll duck-hook everything & that ain't no fun. Usually all the trouble is on the L.

I've played golf twice...both times were for Army sports days, we played a bottle a hole (that's a 745ml crate beer bottle "big boy"), needless to say my golf game wasn't very good at all, but I did have fun.

OP, I hope you can find some people to join your society.

I'm available as a caddy if the pay is right, but don't ask for suggestions, I'm a 19th hole guy.

I've been coming over for the last 10 years playing the 2 original courses, the Miltary one and the Royal Cambodia Club and in all that time the only other players we've seen on the course seemed to be Koreans and the military guys, but then we play during the week. We've pretty much had the courses to ourselves. There was a small Facebook group I uncovered which sounds like what you're looking for when I was planning on staying longer but I can't for the life of me find it now. I've never played the new Nicklaus course but seen a few Charity competitions organised by the business community advertised. Did you check Lonestar ? I know when he's around they head up to the little par 3 course with range for a fun morning.
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.
