Get a Cambodian motorcycle licence when not living in Cambodia?

I just came back from the Myanmar motorcycle licencing office. I live in Myanmar and went to the office to apply for a Burmese motorbike licence, which I need to make my private medical insurance valid if I claim for expenses that result from a motorbike accident.

The licencing office in Naypyitaw politely refused my application because :

- They do not recognise UK motorbike licences for transfer to a Myanmar motorbike licence (I have a full m/b licence from the UK). Maybe their refusal to accept UK licences is a 'snub' to their former colonial masters

- They did not accept my international driving permit, pointing out that this was only a translation of my UK licence... (I thought that's what an IDP is!)

- They explained that in order to obtain a Myanmar m/b licence, I could either do a practical test AND sit an exam in Burmese (!)

OR if I had a m/b licence from any other ASEAN country, then they would issue a Myanmar m/b licence to me forthwith!!

So.... is it possible to get a Cambodian m/b licence by paying an agent in PP, AND not living in PP nor renting a property?

u lived in Thailand a long time...didn't u ever have a license??

Yes, I had both a car and m/bike licence, but they expired years ago when I moved to Myanmar. I'm pretty sure that I can get a Thai 1 year m/bike licence on my next trip, but that won't be until Christmas. (So I better ride VERY carefully until then...)

The whole process has changed now, plenty of threads detailing the process.

Any address works, but you must go to Cambodia.
Very easy to get it from Thailand as you know, and not complicated to go to Thailand 2 days to get it.

its not all that easy, if u only have a tourist visa, some places ask for a NON o or b visa
and it entails a trip to immigration to geta certificate of residency...

Pattaya is one of the easiest and anybody would be dumb to go anywhere else.
Yes Simon always seems to know what to do but at 60 years old he has to be a teacher to survive, after having owned hotels and other things...
So at least he might need help to manage his life
