Pork and beans is cowboy/ frontier kind of food. It should be a bit spicy and have big chunks of meat and fat, and lima beans. Not from a can. that's just pure ignorant.

Haricot beans are baked beans, and they are from the Americas. Same with pinto beans. So they are as American as tacos and tequila.

Same in Kenya. The only time I ate chocolate was when my mom came back from Europe and had real chocolate; the Cadbury's was inedible.

That's actually a pretty accurate description. And their chocolate syrup doesn't taste like chocolate, although I can't really tell you what it does taste like.

It's the way they use milk in their chocolate. Hershey's put sour milk through process called controlled lipolysis that produces butyric acid, the same chemical found in vomit. That's why it tastes so strange.

Cadburys NZ have apparently changed their recipes, not many good reviews. Whittakers are my go-to when I feel the urge for chocolate, shame it's not possible to get in Cambodia.

Anyway, back on topic...

Had a bean dish at a Texan mates bbq one night a couple months back...bloody delicious, missus thoroughly enjoyed them too. I'll have to ask him what the dish was called but I'm fairly certain it wasn't pork n beans as is being discussed.

It's what I would have expected Cambodia to come up with if they were trying to copy a chocolate recipe.
