Also, do you really trust the source of the shot you are about to have?

I last had a flu shot 4 years ago and then went down with a completely different strain of flu. Since then, no shot and no flu....Just avoid anyone who is sneezing and coughing.
That's a very biased anti-vaccine article. The cons have been presented without numbers and background, and they have mostly been busted as myths long time ago.

The last flu season in the US, the flu vaccine was only effective in the 30+ percent. Can be hit or miss.

Probably best to wash hands, and not touch your nose, mouth and eyes with unwashed hands.

Shame others can't understand that.

In this cotton wool world we live in, our bodies are loosing their ability to fight infections by themselves and are becoming dependent on drugs.

How is having a vaccination against a disease going to make you unable to fight infections? Any vaccine will be beneficial to you, as you will no longer be susceptible to that disease/strain. So what if you got the wrong flu jab, it's a fucking flu jab. Vaccines are not drugs, the allow your T cells to identify pathogens and remove them, making you healthier, not sicker.

Biased in that you do not agree with it. The pros and cons were neatly laid out. You pay your money and you takes your chance.

Who knows what they are putting into your arm at some of these clinics? Asia is renowned for it's fake drugs (mainly from the PRC).

The attached link explains how the wrong type of flue vaccine has no effect on other strains.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/arti ... admit.html

As per Stevenjb's post, prevention by being sensible is the best way forward, not relying on a jab which may not even be connected to the strain of flue that goes around. Just about every OAP I see in our area gets flue even though they have had a flue jab. Better to avoid those who have it.

According to your arguement. we should have ourselves dosed up with every possible vaccine or shot known to man and then become invincible. Fine be my guest.

I see you are one of those posters who put words in others mouths. I never said having a vaccination against a disease going to make you unable to fight infections...that is your quote, not mine. I am just dubious of having a flue shot for no reason other to act as a preventative caution when there are better ways such as staying healthy, eating healthy foods, exercising (not in a bar), avoiding people who are sick etc.

And it's not a FUCKING flue jab, it is a Flue jab. No flue is fucking anyone. When people resort to expletives to put their point across, they have lost.

You know that the Spanish flu mostly killed fit, healthy people, right? A flue is a chimney, if you can't actually spell it then it weakens your argument against it... It was middle-class Victorians who decided that the language of the working-class was vulgar, so it is in fact just snobbery to object.

So you want the 5 minute arguement. What a sad life you must lead.

People come on forums and offer their point of view, others come on simply to start an arguement.

Oh well, a quick click on the foes list takes care of your posts.

1918 Flu (Spanish Flu)

Health and Hygiene were not hall marks during this time period.

From Wikipedia:

"More recent investigations, mainly based on original medical reports from the period of the pandemic, found that the viral infection itself was not more aggressive than any previous influenza, but that the special circumstances (malnourishment, overcrowded medical camps and hospitals, poor hygiene) promoted bacterial superinfection that killed most of the victims typically after a somewhat prolonged death bed"

Note: most victims succumbed to bacterial pneumonia following influenza virus infection -

Amazing that it has been 100 years ( 1918 to 2018 ) since this out break

I am 100% sure it has been 100 years because of the flu shots given in the early 1900s
