Effects of High /Low Voltage on Electricity Bill

To reduce the effect of voltage alterations in the electrical and electronic devices like Fridge, Air conditioners, Computers, etc stabilizers are used to stabilize the incoming voltage, so that the devices are not sabotaged at any cost. The stabilizer in case of higher voltage binds the power supply and bucks the low voltage before it reaches the destination.

Though the occurrence in both the cases is different yet the result in both the cases is same as the function is to stabilize the inflow of voltage to the electrical and electronic equipments. Thus, the net result is the hike in the electricity bill due to fluctuations in the voltage in the electrical lines.http://vertexpower.co.in/blog/uncategor ... city-bill/

Our workplace paid a 25% increase, but we also used around 100 litres of petrol (65 hrs run time) to fuel the genny.

Oddly, the rate charged per KwH on my most recent statement decreased since just year, and it wasn't due to a decrease in consumption. We'll see what this month's statement looks like soon.

Maybe they know the power outages affect the meters and are trying to cut customers some slack?

Just curious of what the current price per KWH is there?

Here in the Peoples Republic of California (Commiefornia) we are paying anywher from .16 cents to 62 cents per KWH - depends on your usage/plan/time day use/time of year.
I think that translates to 640 Riel to 2480 Riel at 4000/dollar.

My mother in another state pays only .09 cents per KWH (360 Riel per KWH).

What's the going rate there? Also, has it been proved that the brownouts mess up the meter readings?

Don't have the bill in front of me but I seem to recall that I pay 800 Riel/kwh.

The rate depends on one's consumption for the month. It's now below 500 riel for very low consumption, and up to near 750 for higher usage. Pretty cheap I think.

Now I understand why my bill was so high. I'm worried about April's bill.

My lease contract is like 1200 riel per kilowatt :(

The water rate per cu.m. is 550 Khr for 7 cu.m. or less. My lease is 1500 per. Multiply that by the 150 rooms in my apartment complex and the bastard does pretty well just skimming water!!

Thankfully I'm on government electric so I pay the government directly.

I average about 250kWh/month but that's with guests staying at times. EDC rate is 740R/kWh. My April bill was average, while the March one was unusually low, 167kWh. I usually let the breeze through and don't close up the windows, except at night as I have to close up my room to make it dark enough to sleep. Even then I only use occasional blasts of AC set at 29C to make it cool enough to sleep.
