Electrician repairing food dehydrator damaged by 220v
Hello forum members,
I have a food dehydrator that is 110v compatible, and was using it with the 200v converter. Unfortunately there were some distractions and the machine was moved away from the 220v converter. Without thinking I plugged it back in without using the converter. Now it's not working. I opened it up to have a look and it seems to be a fairly simple device, except for a fan inside that blows the air onto the food.
Does anyone know of any local electrical repair people that may be able to repair this type of damage?

I don't know of anyone, but did you check for a fuse? Usually those things are just a heating element and fan. The heating element would try to pull a lot of current and hopefully take out the fuse.
up to you...

Is the round silver thing in this picture a fuse?
Other than that I didn't see anything that looks like a fuse.
Agree that it looks like a simple device...

That's a thermostat, you're probably looking for something like this
But, you'd need to test it, so probably best to have someone look at it for you

We took it to a place and he got it working, apparently he replaced the thermal fuse. But now the fan doesn't work. So I will try another place to see if they can fix the fan.

if u have burnt out fan windings, u will need it rewound or buy a new one
cheaper than new unit
suggest in future use duct tape to stick power input to dryer so that its impossible to connect without transformer
