Not sure what beggies are but I use tap water for cooking, except for tea as the water tastes a bit strange.

water might be cleaner, but what about those pipes?

I will agree with that.Even Australian cities.
I have a water distiller, both here in PP and in Australia. When the water in the boiler container has been distilled, all that is left behind is about 3 or 4 teaspoons of water and
dirt, chlorine, alu sulfate, etc.
The residue left behind in the boiler , in Australia is ten times more than the one here in PP.

I haven't been sick the next day from ice in drinks or frosty glass for 3 years. While in SHV have to swill everything, the water smells of chlorine, often discoloured.

My SHV water looks and smells fine. I have bypassed the storage tank, though. The amount of residue in your still will be down to how much Calcium Carbonate is in the water. London water is clean as a whistle but it'll fur stuff up in minutes as it's hard

Where or what is the purpose of aluminum sulfate in the water. How did you determine that is the chem?Duncan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2017 7:55 am

I only know Al. Sulf. as a flocculating agent. Is it used as a decontaminate?
