Drinking water - filters/UV etc

Post by timmydownawell »

What do you guys use for drinking water?

I've been using a UV filter and have not been sick at all since I have used it. It doesn't filter anything but does kill bacteria.

Wondering if anyone uses those three stage filters connected to your tap, or anything else? Any recommendations?

I drink the tap water in PP and you have to be careful where you buy the big blue bottles, especially in SHV, as I have witnessed glued tops, wrapped up ripped tops and no tops at all. The water taste like dish water.

Seems a bit ott to use those filters as they are a pain in the a hole.

I use boiled tap water, I don't trust the big blue bottles enough and used to get through them way too quick

OK well I used to use the bottled water, but now I live on E5 and I don't think anyone should be lugging the, up five flights of stairs...
I used to get sick more when drinking the bottled water, but whether that was from the water or from something else I don't know.

Tap water is fine for brushing teeth, tea/coffee/cooking... but I still don't fancy drinking it straight from the tap. Does anyone use a filter of any type (three stage/ceramic etc?)

Haha, I know the water purification plant is meant to be state of the art these days but I don't exactly trust the pipes that bring it from there.

I live on the 4th floor as well so it got a bit tedious swapping the bottle out every other day!

I think that's the issue. When it floods and all that mingled waste water is soaking into the ground, there's potential for it to leach into the tap water...

This is what I use, and was good value from Aliexpress. But it's "always on", so the UV light is always running and the water heats up in the tube, so the drinking water comes out very hot for the first 20 seconds. I need to install a water flow switch or something so it only turns on when I turn the tap on.
