Documents to Bangkok
Documents to Bangkok
A friend needs to get three new passports to family working in Bangkok, is there a cheaper way than DHL which would cost about $47?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Documents to Bangkok
They're passports, extremely important documents...would you rather take the cheaper option and risk them getting lost, or pay $47 to a reputable worldwide courier service to have peace of mind?
I know which option I'd go for.
C'mon...it's only $47 ffs! TEFLER by chance?

Re: Documents to Bangkok
If they are a good friend and this is important to them just cough up the $47 . Helping a friend in need is worth more than $47.
Re: Documents to Bangkok
^ I agree, Cambodian passports are rather expensive, $47 vs. paying for new passports.

Re: Documents to Bangkok
A pp issued in pp needs to be used to exit cambodia. Sending the pp to thailand is uselesss as they can not be used without an entry stamp.
Tell them they need return to cambodia to pick them up

Re: Documents to Bangkok
That is actually not true. The truth is that immigration can not deny you entry to Cambodia if you hold a Cambodian passport. Yes, you will be pulled aside and questioned as to why there is no exit stamp, but in the end they have to let you in. I know someone who went through the experience. If there is a good reason why you don't have an exit stamp and departure card then there will not be any issue.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2017 2:03 pm A pp issued in pp needs to be used to exit cambodia. What Thailand will accept is another issue. They will need a letter from the Cambodian embassy authorizing the entry stamp in their existing passport to be moved.

BTW, I'm going to Bangkok tonight if you want to meet me at the airport. I'll send them for you EMS in Thailand . The cost is usually about 50 baht.

Perhaps I should rephrase my question and use the word acquaintance not friend who probably just trying to help some people out.
I assume that new passports are required as until recently Cambodia issued two and five year passports and migrant workers could find their passports expiring during their contract period and their employer would need a new passport in order to extend their work permit.
Monorail. Thanks for the offer but understand that the guy who asked me the question is not in PP at the moment.

If they are legal migrant workers the hold an la migrant visa valid for 2 years. The visa is Never longer than the valadity of the passport.
Also if legal they hold a 2 year wp. The wp also is tied to the visa. Ur better telling them to go to poi pet, get new passport and exit cambodia and enter thailand. They also need regisyer new passport and get new wp card at the migrant labor office.
I just went thru this with my gf begging of this month.
