I am not sure that I would trust the top hospital with any life threatening condition .
Seriously you have two or three dental clinic who aimed specifically to dental tourism, the European clinic has two Japanese dentist for example, and they are not alone.
The population treated has a very high probability to be examined to a dentist back home, over treatment would be notice. Apart from the bad publicity this could have very serious consequence with insurance company.
Personally I am restricted to the hospital I can go to in Thailand and Vietnam the other are not judge up to standard ( training of the personal, material, following standard.). And in case of an important dental work they would ask me to submit the X ray.

In any case you can specified that you want only a check up and nothing else, you can also ask for the cost of the procedure by phone.

I'd start off with the cheapest possible place I could find that would take the xrays. You can actually see for yourself if you have cavities. The dark spots will be pretty evident. If you need a tooth cleaning, wait until you travel to Barangland or BKK if you must. If you really, really need a scaling (i.e. haven't had one in 2 or 3 years, you are a dirty, dirty man and deserve to have a trade school/technical school graduate scrap a surgical weapon over your nasty teeth. (Sorry...tough love).

ha! i'd recommend the opposite... that they come here. dentistry seems to be the one thing this country has right.

labelle or whatever the name is. The girl is a great dentist...just be aware she will do cavities without any anesthesia, but it doesnt seem as bad as what you would think.

She is great...10/10

I don't know that we should take your advice; how do your teeth look?

Definitely way better off getting stuff done here, especially simple stuff like a cleaning. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to ust test it out. It's 20$ for fucks sake. Just head to Roomchang or some other place for a cleaning and t'll give you an idea of the skill level and if you feel comfortable getting more work done. Tons of French-trained dentists and even the ones trained in Cambodia are damn good. Medicine is completely messed up, but dentistry here is actually top-notch (if you keep a certain standard obviously). A lot of people get really elaborate stuff done here for a fraction of the cost in the west and they're pleased with the results. It's a no-brainer imo.

Very sound advice, I totally agree. I had several new crowns done (replacements) at Roomchang and I'm very happy with the result. The price is a fraction from what it would be in the west. I was very surprised what I read about your cleaning at Roomchang, BKL, my cleaning was done very thoroughly by them, it must have been a lazy dentist, or an a bad day, I have nothing but praise for them and the work they've done.
