Dealing with overstay

Ask us anything. Cambodia Expats Online has a huge community of long-term expats that can answer any question you may have about life in Cambodia. Have some questions you want to ask before you move to Cambodia? Ask them here. Our community can also answer any questions you have about how to find a job or what kind of work is available for expats in Cambodia, whether you're looking for info about Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or anywhere else in the Kingdom. You're also welcome to ask about visa and work permit questions as well, as the immigration rules change often, especially since COVID-19. Don't be shy, ask CEO's community anything!

If you cant keep up with the simple rules of staying legally in a country you dont deserve leniency. You could have had a lot of fun with the money your going to pay to immigration. Thats so stupid....

If they don't know when it expired, then I don't know... but as long as you have money you won't be getting locked up.
Problem is I will have to organize the money and possibly have my embassy despute their decission and I don't want to be detained while I do these things.
why would ur embassy get involved with ur overstay in Cambodia?

If you dont have the $$ ur shit out of luck

My usual agent won't deal with it and tells me to go to immigration. I'm worried if I do that I might end up being detained. Any ideas how this is usually dealt with?
How much did you get when you sold your passport ?

Thread translation:
1. Don't want to pay or can't pay. I suspect it's the latter.
2. Wants someone else (preferably embassy) to sort it out.

I must say I do appreciate these threads.
Everytime one comes up I check my passport for my current visa expiration date. Now, as I am reaching into my desk drawer for it I "Know" when it expires.... but ... I still check.

Could I request another thread at around the end of May please.
