Unbelievable that a bloke sitting on riverside eating, having a beer or just waiting for someone is judged as creepy...
I agree in the no shirts look is bad but these are a minority and mainly tourists.
Don't judge a book by its cover and................................. probably mind your own business.

I agree. I haven't done so in ages, but whenever I got to sit at a PP riverside establishment and enjoy a beer or breakfast alone in the shade, watch the world go by, flirt innocently with the lovely waitresses far too young for me and read a newspaper, I always felt fortunate and appreciative of my modest but relatively good fortune so far in this life. Sad to think there are some a-holes walking around taking notes on others and implying misbehavior or bad intentions. Says more about the deficient mentality of that poster than those enjoying a bit of time out alone on a lovely day.Arget wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2017 7:24 am Unbelievable that a bloke sitting on riverside eating, having a beer or just waiting for someone is judged as creepy...

I love it and don't feel creepy at all.
There are people who cannot imagine that there are other ways of life than their own life.

While I have great social skills, I often prefer being alone, and am great company. I am, an introvert, and have learned the joy and simplicity of travelling and eating alone. I like being to get up and go on a whim, without negotiation or conversation. I am also a great people watcher, I really enjoy that, it is often very entertaining. Aside from that, quiet time to read and reflect is nourishing for the soul.
It is quite possible that the reason a lot of men arrive here alone, is because they can. They are free and don't need anyone else's permission to go abroad. They quite likely like being alone, and it might have contributed to their decision to be here.

Sure there's a lot about me that is not perfect or great. Is that what you wish to see from me; a list of my shitty side and my failures?logos wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 3:03 pmbobby you are so impressive! It's interesting (to me at least) being an introvert, and a study in contrasts, because while I can socialize and work the room, I am planning my exit before I even arrive and much prefer my own company. Well, there you go, that's actually something not so great about me, you should be pleased then?
When I say I am a great people watcher, it means I enjoy it. It doesn't mean I am great at it, whatever that would entail. I guess it means I am easily entertained.
But enough of me, I get it, you would prefer not to hear it at all, so not sure why you asked.

I do not know what line of work RickyBobby is in but I understand where he is coming from. I need to socialize all day with guests and staff, part of the job description, but I am more than happy to spend a few hours on my own reading a book, watching the circus pass by, and have a beer; creepy or not.

Creepy is an interesting word, often used by creeps, haha. Thank's Hanno.hanno wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 3:22 pm I do not know what line of work RickyBobby is in but I understand where he is coming from.
