Most countries require kids to have their own passports these days. Better double check that they will be allowed to leave Cambodia AND enter the destination country on Mum's passport, and that the airline will take them on board.

As previously mentioned , you may as well get your missus one of the new 10 year passports at the same time as the kids, especially since it is due to expire next year and most countries require a minimum 6 months remaining on the passport before expiry when entering/applying for visas.
