Sailorman just makes stuff up when it suits him - like that ridiculous correlation between Swedish gun laws and rape.
But that is a misconception, according to Klara Selin, a sociologist at the National Council for Crime Prevention in Stockholm. She says you cannot compare countries' records, because police procedures and legal definitions vary widely.

"In Sweden there has been this ambition explicitly to record every case of sexual violence separately, to make it visible in the statistics," she says.

"So, for instance, when a woman comes to the police and she says my husband or my fiance raped me almost every day during the last year, the police have to record each of these events, which might be more than 300 events. In many other countries it would just be one record - one victim, one type of crime, one record."

British Crime Survey 2013
what the fuck you going on about now, talking even more bullshit
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-33547806
Police recorded 26,370 offences in 2014/15, up from 25,974 the previous year - breaking a downward trend since 2010/11.
the article you got your "information" from is 7 years old! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... lling.html
and its still a load of horse shit making up numbers....
you forgot to mention from the article...
The police data revealed 22,000 serious knife assaults - including 231 attempted murders - were reported to the police last year.
and this explains why the whole article is full of shit....(Look out for the quote..."This is thought to be".....not facts, just a guess)
The British Crime Survey figure of 130,000 knife attacks is substantially higher than the police's figure. This is thought to be because many victims never report being threatened with a knife
basically bullshit.... next... :thumb:

Bombs don't kill people. People kill people.I'm hoping the US makes bombs legal this year. Then I can wire the perimeter.

Aren't bombs are already legal if they used by the "right" people ? (ie; myself and my allies.)

Bingham: You say I make this stuff up, but I'm quoting scientific studies by people with doctors degrees and experts in their field. The information is published in scientific journals specific to the subjects. You say I made this up, I say your full of BullShit. Do a little reading and research and you may not look like so uninformed next time.

Example of Rape and private firearms carry. A lady is walking down the street and is accosted by a rapist with a knife.
1) She pulls out her cell phone and calls police, but is raped before they get around to responding.
2) She pulls out her personal pistol and either blows the sucker away (lots of paperwork though) or he runs like hell.

Which would you rather happen to your wife/girlfriend/daughter? Are your so anti-firearms that you would let your wife/girlfriend/daughter walk around unprotected even when she could have had a concealed carry permit? Of course you would make her take firearms class's because if she pulls out a gun and doesn't use it the guy will take it away. BTW/ Unless you get industrial grade (police) pepper spray, they stuff doesn't work that well. All she would get would be a crying, pissed off rapist. This argument is mot in countries that have taken away their citizens/serfs rights.

BTW/ BBC? Can you say government bought off mouth-piece media. BTW/ I don't watch FOX, NBC, ABC, CBS MSNBC (MSLSD) either. If you believe what they report, I've got a bridge here in Snookyville that I will sell you real cheap.

Life is simple in the Old Salt's world. Unfortunately in the real world there are rather more options than the two he states:
3) She attempts to get her gun out, he slits her throat.
4) She pulls out gun, expecting him to run away, instead he takes it of her and uses it to shoot her dead.
People who carry a gun as a deterrent but don't intend to use it, labour under a false sense of security, and fail to understand the number one rule, don't point a gun at anyone unless you intend to use it. :hattip:

I believe that Hollywood macho man has given us a misguided view of our own powers if an unjust act is perpetrated against ourselves, our friends or family (eg Taken). For those of us living in the States these fantasies often involve guns (I prefer a lump of shit in the Lexus airvent) The idea that one man can take on 5 with his fists and walk away uninjured is just as daft as one untrained (or even highly trained) man taking out 5 with a gun. Just fantasy. Guns have a tendency of causing fatal wounds. Fists on the very rare occasion.
