Along with everything else It does seem to me I've got dengue.I'm sleeping 20 hours a day trying to ride it out. Feeling marginally better tonight for the first time which I'm pleased about, but I'm still essentially just a big sack of itchy aches, pains and fatigue the likes I've not experienced before.

I think I may have turned the corner, however.
I hope you've turned the corner.

I had dengue a couple of months ago here in 'Nam. Not fun. There are four variants of dengue fever... and no treatment. Rest and staying hydrated is all you can do.
With dengue, can take days-months to fully recover and the older you are the longer it takes.
As above, rest and lots of liquids.. I found siting in the sun also made me feel better

For the aches;
I checked opium but could find no reliably conducted clinical trials indicating it would be of significant benefit.
Same with hashish.
(just some stoners who said it was good for everything)

Methamphets may help with the congestion on your lungs, but expensive.
- loosing 50% of your cranial capacity and getting those spots on your face is a high price to pay.
:head shot:

Dr Wiki says,
"you should use pain relievers with acetaminophen ((paracetamol)) and avoid medicines with aspirin, which could worsen bleeding."

Choose wisely.

(...and don't forget to laugh at your awful situation every now and then - that definitely works)

Thanks for the concern. I'm now clear of all symptoms except for the constant weakness or exhaustion which is a bit frustrating when all I want to do is walk around trying to improve the hobby. I took the camera out this morning for the first time and got about a hundred metres before realizing it was pointless as I was immediately overcome with fatigue. That's the thing, laying down you feel perfectly fine but as soon as you exert yourself, you understand there's something amiss. Also still sleeping a lot, like sixteen hours a day.

I've got four weeks in Kathmandu remaining before 2 months in Australia then a flight to Thailand by which time I hope I'm rid of the damn thing.
