Clean green area in Phnom Penh

Post by Thorix »

I maybe looking for the impossible in this post, but I need to ask: Is there a clean, quiet, green area that you can go for a walk that doesn't smell of urine, shit or it is ridden with rubbish in Phnom Penh? Not far from the city or even better within the city. Moreover, a place that you do not have to pay stipend for parking your moto and (drumroll), boasts trees casting some shade?

Most of the time I ased this question, the answer has been "The riverside", but this walk stinks, plus it is quite crowded and. I also tried Angkor Boulevard, but it also stinks of urine. I tried across the China-Cambodia friendship bridge too, the Sokha hotel area, but it looks pretty unsafe to park.

So far, the closest thing I know to this "idilic" place I am looking for is the RUPP campus, but it isn't ideal either. Europark almost covers all points, but it is too far from where I live (not in terms of distance, but traffic).

Any other suggestions?

Odom park is fairly quiet on weekdays, but it's a temporary park. Enjoy it while it lasts...
