Used to park on 136 all the time when i was staying in PP, expect the year i lived there with my thai car.

If ur serious about doing overland travel fb groups are invaluable as Lots of people online post their travel stories and its a great place to ask info form people doing what u plan on doing.

You need a guide/ permits thru China and Burma, Another reason to join the fb groups as many people do a 2, 3 , 4 car group which lowers the guide/permit costs vs doing it on ur own.
You're exaggerating massively there. You haven't driven here for 12 years, you have just visited briefly a few times. Was your car safe when you used to park it at K11? 8)
Not that i find the need to defend myself but i will just for you :beer3:
1st drove over in 2006, lived for 10 month (with my car) 2008/09
been driving back at least 2 x/year till 2018

Dont believe me? who cares, but by visiting my site u can see photos back to then
and see my numerous road trips thru Thailand, Laos & Cambodia

So you drove here once about 15 years ago and a few times till 2018/19? I was just surprised when you said you'd been driving here for 12 years. Why would you bother anyway? Apparently it's shit and everything is far better in Thailand. 8)

Given that ...AIT/FIT does not have an official CPD - Carnet De Passade En Douane - issuing organization in the country... Should not the question be...Will Cambodia accept and honour a CDP issued by another CDP issuing country/authority on arrival in your vehicle at a Cambodian International Border Crossing?

I don't know but the question is worth asking.

On overlandingassociation.org it says the following about Cambodia:

"Recently travellers entering Cambodia have been asked for either a permit (issued Phnom Penh, can take up to 7 days) or a Carnet to enter the country with their vehicle. A Carnet is not officially required for entry into Cambodia, and the requirement of a permit is something new. There has been little officially published about either of these requirements and it does not appear that these rules are being applied consistently on all borders. Travellers have reported that you may be able to obtain the permit in advance from a Cambodian embassy in e.g. Bangkok. "

This information is dated 2018 so not really up-to-date but perhaps the latest available. According to this website there are new regulations in Thailand since 2016 requiring a guide to travel with the car. Also in Burma. Who knows if the same rules will come back when the hysteria is over.
