Car rental, private use (and driving licence)

Post by Freightdog »

Ok, Folks.
I start with the daft (or not so daft) questions.

First up- Is it possible to rent a vehicle for myself to drive? I'd be interested in rentals that would last 2-3 days, so that I can head off into the country, free from schedules. Some off road capability might be handy, but not essential. Not really looking for latest model, mod cons, bells and whistles- a reliable scruffy beast would suffice. We're more likely to simply enjoy the ride, with some of our own music.

Second- I see info on regulations changes, and changes again in driving licences. British driving licence holder; any traps or issues?

Third. Longer term thoughts- bringing my own (UK/foreign registered) vehicle into Cambodia. Is it possible? Does it attract all sorts of tax bills like Some countries, or restrictions such as must be owned x-years, left hand drive, etc?

I'm a bit of an adventurer at times, and like a little freedom
