Can I use a mobile boarding pass at Phnom Penh airport?
Can I use a mobile boarding pass at Phnom Penh airport?
Got a boarding pass by email from Thai Airways. Do I have to print it out or line up for check in or can I just show it on my phone and go right to the gate?

Not a traveller, so I don't know. Can't hurt to print it on A4 just in case.

There are only like 3 Internet cafes left in the whole city.
The answer appears to be no. Thai says mobile boarding pass no good for this flight, maybe that’s only for domestic flights.

Even with mobile boarding passes, you still have to present yourself at the check-in counter at PNH, then they'll issue you a physical boarding pass.

Despite the declining number of Internet cafes around town, most Photograph & Photocopy shops will do printing.

Yes, and I believe that's the same at the Siem Reap airport as well.PSD-Kiwi wrote:Even with mobile boarding passes, you still have to present yourself at the check-in counter at PNH, then they'll issue you a physical boarding pass.
Which is a pain in the ass, because waiting in line to get a physical boarding pass is time you can be getting drunk in the lounge. I assume you still have a Priority Pass membership, Gav?
Your best bet is to just walk up to the first class/business check-in counter and tell them you're already checked in and just need a boarding pass/drop off a bag, and you can skip waiting with all the backpackers who don't know how to check-in online.

Yes, you can't move without bumping into a technophobe millennial backpacker.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2018 4:19 pm you can skip waiting with all the backpackers who don't know how to check-in online.

Haha, I would have guessed that too, but sometimes they announce you can just drop off bags in one line (Air Asia) and I'm surprised by all the backpackers who haven't done that already.cautious colin wrote:Yes, you can't move without bumping into a technophobe millennial backpacker.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2018 4:19 pm you can skip waiting with all the backpackers who don't know how to check-in online.

Re: Can I use a mobile boarding pass at Phnom Penh airport?
I had a similar concern last week, flying from Phnom Penh, after checking in online. I ended up printing my boarding card, and it changed my given name to my first initial, which made me even more unsure.
Anyway, when I entered the airport, the check-in line was all the way from the counter to the airport entrance. Certainly the longest line I've seen on Pochentong. But then I saw that they had an online check-in counter with absolutely no line whatsoever. I just had to show a guy that I in fact had checked in online, before I went to the counter. I checked in my bag, and she also printed out new boarding passes. The guy behind me just showed his mobile booking.
This was Emirates, not Thai, but if you have baggage you need to check in, you have to talk to a real person anyway, and they will probably just print it out for you.
