Cambodian Dentists

Post by juansweetpotato »

Cambodian dentists. People have been telling me that dentistry in Cambodia sets such a high world standard over cheap prices that many tourists are dental tourists. They say that although Cambodians cheat at exams, it is different as far as dentistry goes.

Does anyone have an opinion on the overall quality of dental work/ price in Phnom Penh compared to say, Vietnam or Thailand?

Also, I need to get some fillings, can anyone recommend a good dentist in PP?
My requirements are:
1. Locally priced - no price hiking because of skin color etc.
2. Painless - any dentist that causes pain (not discomfort) is in my book not good.
3. The dental work should last at least 5 years.
4. The dentist should be equipped with modern digital xray, and not over use it.
5. All dental work should be carried out in hygienic surroundings.

Pachem dental in PP or SR. I can't recommend them highly enough.

While no dental work is painless, they do everything to minimize it.

Any prices to go with that recommendation? Clean? filling? Crown? Root canal? Cheers

I paid $150 per crown, I have had 11 in total. I think a clean is around $20. I can put you in touch with the dentist on Facebook - I have a page called Dental treatment in Cambodia about my story - I'm not affiliated in any way I just got tired of people asking the same questions ;)

In my experience (too may hours to add up) Dentistry is completely painless if carried out by a competent dentist.
The crown prices differ depending on the quality of materials used. My mid-range crowns including root canal treatment in Vietnam were $50 each. I'd be looking at about the same price here. Fillings should be $5 - 10 and a clean $5-10 also.

I've dealt with 4 different dentists and they were all excellent. The doctors I've talked to were absolute morons & I got on the next flight to BKK.
