Why not general anesthetic? I had all four of mine removed at once and went under. Who wants to be awake while they're drilling into you?

Who wants to be asleep while they're choking to death on blood and shards of bone in a Phnom Penh clinic?MekongMouse wrote:Why not general anesthetic? I had all four of mine removed at once and went under. Who wants to be awake while they're drilling into you?

Re: Cambodian Dentists
Samouth, wouldn't it be safer and cheaper for you to take a bus ride to Vietnam for your op? $5 on the bus and because your Cambodian, no visa. I have heard that if a dentist makes three mistakes in Vietnam and they are reported, they will be struck off the dental register. Do they even have such a register in Cambodia? True, in Vietnam, as a dentist, you can probably pay your way out of any bad mistakes, but in Cambodia it is a cert.

Re: Cambodian Dentists
Thanks for the suggestion, however it will not go to Vietnam for such operation, i will take the risk to do it with Cambodian dentist. I think if i go to Vietnam to do it, i might have to spend even more money as i will not be able to find $5 bus from Phnom Penh to Saigon. Moreover as i don't speak Vietnamese, it will be so hard for me to tell taxi driver or motordop to where i want to go. I am more likely to be ripped off by them as i don't speak Vietnamese. So that, i will have to hire interpreter for $25 per day, accommodation and foods. Most of doctors in Vietnam don't speak English but French.juansweetpotato wrote:Samouth, wouldn't it be safer and cheaper for you to take a bus ride to Vietnam for your op? $5 on the bus and because your Cambodian, no visa. I had a Korean dentist at Roomchang, excellent work
35% cheaper than Thailand
great follow up.

Use local ( just a shot to kill the nerve) for when the tooth is pulled and stitches put in.
SC never heard that Valium is a truth serum, thats a new one

Re: Cambodian Dentists
I'm with Richard, Roomchang is great, also see my earlier post in this thread, they have (I believe 2) fully equipped operating rooms, Samouth, just go there, and you will get honest advice and good treatment. Street 184, close to the junction with Norodom, tall white building, good luck.

Re: Cambodian Dentists
Valium by drip is a whole different (better) high. It couldn't be duplicated orally.
Re: Cambodian Dentists
I would second that. As I have mentioned a number of times Roomchang is a top facility and the only one in Cambodia, as I am aware that is ISO 9001:2008 accredited. I used to fly over to Thailand and use Silom Dental, but since Roomchang opened their new facility on 184 st. I have used them exclusively. Disregarding minor work I have had a bone graft and two implants done and all top class work. The dentist was Dr. Lov, who I would thoroughly recommend.phuketrichard wrote:I had a Korean dentist at Roomchang, excellent work

I highly doubt that. Vietnam is a non regulation place. I know that the top hospital there had some problem having employed medical personnel without proper certification.
When I say having problem I do not mean having problem with the local regulation authority (this you can buy your way out) but more with the foreign insurance company.
For any thing serious foreigner and local usually flight to Bangkok

It is a certainty in Vietnam also at least for the physician I strongly doubt that thing are more regulated for the dentist. Any way you have lot of Vietnamese dentist in PP.
