OneTV - $65 install per TV
80 channels free for 4 months, then $10pcm. 60 channels free for 1 year, then $6pcm. I believe this is satellite/radio, cannot add additional boxes.
PPCTV $50 install including first 50 metres from their nearest pole*.
72 channels, $10pcm/$100yr
$10 per splitter for additional TVs.
* this is the first of many, many scams this company pulls, I will post separately about my experiences with this ultra dodgy company.
I don't know about the '' many scams '' or ''dodgy company'' bit, but I have been with them, PPCTV since 2006, and have found them reasonable. Prices have not gone up in all that time.
As for One TV, having 80 or 60 ''free '' for ???? , your best to invite all your Vietnam, Chinese and Thai friends around to watch so you can get your money's worth.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

PPCTV is OK
However, I do agree that many channels are useless to most of us
Even Natgeo/Animal Planet have degenerated, wtf wants to watch a bunch of yobbos going tuna fishing for 3 seasons, for dog's sake?
Reality TV = good reason to renistate the death penalty

Most people just leech off of PPTV or CCTV. People that pay might look at this:StroppyChops wrote:I know cable TV costs around $100pa, but what's the process for getting it installed (multiple points) as a new installation in PP, please?

A few complaints IIRC over at backslappers about them though.
Cheers,
RD

Re: Cable TV - what's the process?
Yes, in hindsight I would have gone with OneTV over PPCTV as while I'm usually pretty good at sharing, I resent that after putting in a new line at my expense, the technician then did a side job with a dozen neighbours and cut them in on our line, making it unwatchable. The company sent out a technician to fix this, and he reduced the poaching to around six, declaring "oh, better now"... At least with OneTV you, and only you, get what you pay for.Rain Dog wrote:Most people just leech off of PPTV or CCTV. Should also be noted that PPCTV is analogue, despite advertising that they are digital.

You can buy cable splitters at the market, and the cable, btw, so if you or wifey know show to use screwdriver, get one line and do the rest yourself.

Re: Cable TV - what's the process?
If that's for me, I ended up channeling and cabling the whole house myself with co-ax and CAT6 - PPCTV charge you for the cable whether you supply your own or not (one of the many rorts) so I gave them cable ties and anchor points through the house, and then installed it correctly after tossing them out of the house for blatantly trying to steal from me. But as always, your thoughts are valued.vladimir wrote:You can buy cable splitters at the market, and the cable, btw, so if you or wifey know show to use screwdriver, get one line and do the rest yourself.
