Buying Vs Renting apartments in PP
Re: Buying Vs Renting apartments in PP
Id never buy anyhting in a country where the wiring and plumbing looks lie it was installed by two monkeys fucking a football using the cheap stuff that China cant export to the west, and inspections are conducted by handing over an envelope.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 9:54 pm I'd never buy anything in country that you have no ties to nor offers you a permanent visa.

Spoken like true "renters for life". Rent is lost money unless you are the one collecting it.WildA wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 10:39 amId never buy anyhting in a country where the wiring and plumbing looks lie it was installed by two monkeys fucking a football using the cheap stuff that China cant export to the west, and inspections are conducted by handing over an envelope.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 9:54 pm I'd never buy anything in country that you have no ties to nor offers you a permanent visa.

Yes and no, Im down to about 6 units, but sure as hell not in Asia. I want my stuff built in accordance with code. And not subject to being taken away by some tinpot.canucklhead wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 12:32 pmSpoken like true "renters for life". Slightly off topic, but please indulge me;armchairlawyer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 6:34 pm OP, this sounds the best option for you. You can buy an apartment in your lady's name but with a substantial mortgage loan. The bank will all do necessary checking of title. Avoid condos. Good luck.
I heard you can buy a property in a company name with 51% Khmer owned and yourself 49%, and, simultaneously at the time of transfer, you then lease it back to yourself for a peppercorn rent for a period of 50 Years (I understand that's the maximum term at present) but the lease can contain an option to extend the lease for another period of 50 years, thus de facto a 100 year lease.
Is this possible?
What would be the annual tax and filing charges be on such a property owning company and if they fell into neglect could the state take the company and revoke the lease?
