Do not write 30 days and tourism, if you write that it's likely they'll just issue you the T-type (Tourist) Visa rather than the E-type Visa. Write 12 months and Business.

There is a looking for work extension of stay you can get that require a ordinary visa on arrival so of course you could not be required to have proof of employment to obtain it at the airport. Same if you come to retire.

Just choose ordinary and write retire, seek employment or whatever you want. Its not a big deal.

I live here for a decade soon but are not employed in Cambodia so to prevent them from giving me a tourist i would put ordinary, 3 months stay and write seek employment with the intention to get a EG extension if they ask. Then what extension i actually get is another thing.

Isn't it, that you can get an EG extension only once per passport? Or does it simply depend on which agent you choose?
Driving on Cambodian roads is just like playing a classic arcade top scroller. The only difference is a force feedback controller, the limitation to only one life and the inability to restart, once Game Over

@ressl initially that was what was the case when the different EOS categories were first introduced, but you can have multiple EG EOS's in the same passport. The official policy is that you can only get 1x EG EOS in-country which can't be renewed in-country. Once it expires you (your passport) needs to leave the country, re-enter on a new E-type Visa, then apply for a new EG EOS, so you could stay up to 7 months with a 6 month EG EOS, do a visa run, start again, rinse and repeat every 7 months.

Prior to COVID-19 some people successfully managed to get their EG EOS renewed in-country 2 or 3 times though, whether that was due to an official, unpublished, policy change, or just leniency on behalf of the DoI is unclear.

Hi PSD-kiwi and co, i know there are so many threads about visas, i pretty know them all, but i see hardly people with 6-months EOS, whats actually the cost of it (all-in), and is there also a "less-time" extension ?? My plan is doing 2 months CAM, leave to TH or VN and come back for 2 months. But knever thaught about extend it voor 3-4 or 6 months ?? And knever counted what would be the fianancial best option, but of course, as i have never been in VN, it should happen once, (but that visa used to be 75 US for belgians in PP).

You can get 1 & 3 month EOS's also, but they are single entry only, so you would have to start fresh when you return to Cambodia with a new E-type Visa on Arrival. 6 & 12 month EOS's are valid for multi-entry. 6 month EOS will cost you about $160, 3 month EOS about $90, 1 month about $50 (prices vary from agency to agency).

No. There is no such thing as a Business or a Retirement Visa, they are Visa Extensions of Stay. The E-type (Ordinary) Visa is often incorrectly referred to as the Business Visa, hence the confusion.

I must have posted this basic guide at least half a dozen times in the past few weeks....

1. You must enter the country on an E-type (Ordinary) Visa, $35 on arrival, valid for 1 month, no passport pic required, no supporting documents required (for the majority of Nationalities).

2. Prior to your Visa expiry date, go to a Visa agency and apply for an Extension of Stay (EOS). There are different EOS categories available, the main ones are;

- EB (Business/Employment) EOS - 1,3,6,12 month options, can be renewed indefinitely
- ER (Retirement) EOS - 1,3,6,12 month options, can be renewed indefinitely
- ES (Student) EOS - 1,3,6,12 month options, can be renewed indefinitely
- EG (General) - 1,3 month options - 1 time deal, cannot be renewed in-country
- EP (Proposal - seeking employment/business opportunities) 1,3 month options - 1 time deal, can convert to EB EOS with the necessary supporting documentation.

Only 6 & 12 month options valid for multi-entry/exit.

Each EOS category has it's own supporting documentation requirements, but minimum requirements for all are;

- Valid passport with minimum 6 months validity remaining from the date the EOS will expire ie. If applying for 12 mth EOS, you need at least 18 months validity remaining on your passport
- Minimum 2x blank Visa pages in passport
- 1x Passport pic
- Completed EOS application form (most agents will complete on your behalf)
- FPCS details screenshot

Costs if applying via a Visa agency (price depends on agency and location);
- 1 mth EOS = $45 - 55
- 3 mth EOS = $70 - 90
- 6 mth EOS = $150 - 170
- 12 mth EOS = $270 - 300

There is no standard processing time, average is 7-10 business days, but you should allow up to 14 business days, anything less is a bonus. If you need it quickly, you can pay an additional $70 - 100 for express processing (next day) when applying via a Visa Agency.

*You also can apply for your EOS directly at the Department of Immigration (DoI) Visa Office in Pochentong, Phnom Penh, but only if you have all of the necessary supporting documentation, which they are very strict about. Official fee for a 12 month EOS applying directly is $180.
