Brussels sprout seeds

Post by taabarang »

Does anyone know a store that sells the seeds locally? Google has loads of Thai recipes for them but little mention places them in a Khmer context. If no seeds are available, fresh or even(shudder) frozen ones from a supermarket would be tempting. Thanks for reaching into the folds of your memory.

They have had (what were) fresh ones at super duper for weeks. Priced out of my budget. Doubt they are good eating now

Something like $12/$14 a kg

That's more than I pay for meat. If I can locate seeds, I'll have a new cash crop.

Aren’t they too much of a cool temp crop to grow here. In the U.K. they are in season in autumn/winter

I often buy them fresh from Super Duper, but they are overly-expensive. I've also seen them in other supermarkets frozen, and tinned...would never touch either, fresh is the only way to go.

I'm not much of a gardener...but I would think that Cambodia doesn't have the right climate for growing Brussel sprouts. too hot and humid?

Edit: Just found this - Brussels sprouts grow in temperature ranges of 7–24 °C (45–75 °F), with highest yields at 15–18 °C (59–64 °F).
