Breast lump scare - where to go with it?

Post by Terry Fishsauce »

Mrs Fishsauce has some lumps and we need to get it checked out. Any suggestions?

My initial reaction is usually to go to Royal Phnom Penh hospital with serious stuff but I've spent some time in there myself recently and I have started to form the opinion that it's like one of those Thai hospitals that looks great but is clinically shite. I'd be grateful if anyone can chime in.

My gf found a lump last year, our first top was an ultra sound, which confirmed a large growth, this was done at a Womens clinic in Kampot.

Off to P.P we go,to a well thought of clinic by PP expats.Meet the surgeon who explained everything to us in English and Khmere. We agree the growth needs to be removed, and it was on that day.

Return visit ten days later, pathology results in, tumor is benign, and stitches removed,no visible scar,as the surgeon cut along the Areola.

I will post the clinics name when my gf gets home from work.We were both very happy with the whole process.

Along with the clinic name could you provide the length of stay and all related costs? Thank you.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Do you have some experience with them? Do you recommend them?

I did just call the English hotline on the banner of their website. It was a man's personal mobile number and he answered and just said "I don't work there any more, I can't help you".

It seems a bit mickey mouse, no?

Sorry that number is wrong you need to ring 017 575 593, the receptionist does speak a little English. I just called and Dr. Tatiana is available but not today.

Excellent, I have just been talking to them and told them to remove that English line, as it is bad for business. Websites are not often updated, and I have been retired a while and some of my contacts maybe out of date.

The clinic is Chenda Polyclinic,we made an appointment a few days prior to going to PP,Saw the surgeon and he did the job after the consultation,we were there for about 3 hours, all done under local. $200 was the cost and i think that included pathology and follow up.
