Not sure about that. Once added the fees European changers add or European banks include in their rates, I found it better here.

I purchase Euros, Swiss Francs, etc. in PP. Minimal spread and no fees.

The PP changers at the central market calculate from a USD basis not riel basis.

I do not insist that this info is bulletproof but maybe someone in PP can check the rates and post them here. This will give you some idea.

I will post on here a few days before i leave with the dollar and riel rates in London and decide then.

You won't be able to exchange to Riel outside Cambodia anyway.

right got it. I will bring dollars. So i am guessing that riels are used for small purchases such as fags, motodops, tin of beer from the local shop etc? What do the ATMs give you?

I'm guessing you will get a lousy exchange rate if you change to USA $ before you leave, plus , do they charge a fee also. ? On the CNBC tv the exchange rate right now is 1 GBP will get you 1.2472 USA dollars, The local money changer that I use will probable give you ,, 1 GBP = 1.24 USA Dollars. How much can you legally take out of the country ?
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.
