You might want to try "The Hammock Store". It's located opposite "Hammocks 'R Us" which is also good, and slightly better than "Hammocks, Inc.", but not quite as good as "The Hammock Emporium" just around the corner and past the escalators. They are all located in The Hammock Building. You know....over in the hammock district.

$21 worth of material at a cloth store. $2. for how handles, some rope and $12. to have it built at any shop that does shirts/pants/dress's. I downloaded/printed pictures of what I wanted and took it with me to the tailor shop. If in Snooky, I recommend the girl and her father at the tailor shop just south of the old Freedom bar. Worth every penny to build.

Thanks.
I didn't read all the posts. Forgive any repeat info.

Central Market has fine hammocks (ung-rung in Khmer), says from the US (camo, some said it was for the US Army/Allies in E. Europe). Get the one with the mosquitoe net and throw away the cheap lines. I think they come in a hand-carry zip-up fashion, and looks like a cushion with a handle or a zipped-up briefcase.

Look around O'Russei market for the shops that sell only ropes (k'sai in Khmer) and get the thick flat ropes. Flat is good and stronger. It's a bit stiff. But still rolls up well.

Maybe $12-$14 for the larger hammock with mosquitoes net, and $2-4 for the lines. I say about 2-3m each side.

That's why I love port towns, the variety of boats.

Sorry I didn't know the spelling police were on patrol. I also made a mistake (changed), the shop is south of the old Freedom bar.

I've watched dozens of students flop in these for years, cost me $1.50 a couple years back...inflation, now they are $2.50. Found em at a market in Kampong Cham. Wanted to buy at least 6, lady came back with 4, could not get any more, in demand product. I've seen one like this with a calf or baby water buffalo in it.

Happy hunting. Hint, it's not in the main market there, forget the name. Look for locals there lounging in one, point and ask.

this image posting setup SUCKS
