I don’t know anything about PP, but that price does seem very reasonable for a 55” Samsung.
Re: Best place to buy TV in Phnom Penh
I've heard of a few fake Samsung's going around, so I would think twice if it was not from a reputable shop and the deal seems too good to be true. A friend got stung by this, says Samsung on the front but definitely isn't!
I bought a LG 55' about 2 years ago for $600 from the LG store on Monivong. Happy with the quality but most of the apps from the LG store when you DL them are not available in Cambodia.
In retrospect, I probably would have paid a bit more and bought an Android TV, so I could easily download a VPN and have way more choice.
It's still grand though, can just use my laptop and a HDMI cable if I can be bothered or screencast my phone.
Just my experience anyway, if you are fine with just streaming Netflix and YouTube, a Smart TV is the way to go.
Good luck!

You can change the country from the TV settings to make more apps available.Sheepdog wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 11:03 pm I've heard of a few fake Samsung's going around, so I would think twice if it was not from a reputable shop and the deal seems too good to be true. Sihanouk Boulevard near Olympic has a whole stretch of TV places, no fancy showrooms but the same product.

You don't say what model it is, but if it's supposedly a 4K one it's probably a fake for that price. Especially if they're throwing in a bonus boom box.HappyChappy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 4:37 pm I'm about to spend $380 on a 55" smart samsung TV..... Is there a better store out there???

Sounds pretty cheap. It may or may not be fake - they could be clearing old stock (last year's model?) or it might be 2nd hand. Ask if you can look inside to see if Samsung is printed on the circuit boards. You can also see if there is a lot of dust inside the vents which may indicate its 2nd hand.

The fake I saw had Samsung badge/logo on front and on the software (splash screen) when you turned it on. But the model number on the back sticker was not a Samsung one. The user guide had another brand S-something (can't remember), and the box it came in was printed in the style of a Samsung one except didn't have Samsung logos on it. They were advertising it as a smart TV but it wasn't: they were including an Android box with it lol.samrong01 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 7:41 am Sounds pretty cheap.
