Beer

To get that hit, is it better to drink, say, 10 cans of local piss or 3 bottles of Belgium brew? Price works out around the same, give or take.

I would buy a box full ( 24 ) of local piss and drink them together with a half a dozen or so of the other
.. and not worry about the cost .

If it is all about getting fcuked, drink neither. Get a bottle of rice alcohol for $2.50 and get wasted; leave the Belgian beer for people that appreciate it ;-)

I am convinced the local swill has some nasty shit in it. I have recently bought a couple of cases of Kronenburg 1664 and keep them at my local bar. I buy them and she keeps them cold. I pay $1 'corkage' for a 500ml can, which produces 2 nearly full glasses of beer for a total of $3. A bit more than Cambodia piss but well worth it.

5 cans is 2500ml. That is 4.43 pints or roughly 8.3 glasses of local piss nearly to the top (300ml in a 330ml glass)

If I drink 8 glasses of Cambodia I feel rotten the next day. If I drink the same of Kronenburg, I feel ok. Plus I get a better buzz with the Kronenburg which is 5%. God knows what Cambodia % is, I doubt they even know half the time.

I can't always drink in my local bar so occasionally I have to drink Cambodia, but I keep it to a minimum and try to mix it up with a bottle or two of cider or a glass of wine. 8+ glasses of Cambodia are now a thing of the past.

%) My recipe … 1.5 liter Korean rice vodka … 500 gram cinnamon stick, 100 gram star anise, 100 gram clove, 100 gram cardamom, 500 gram dried prune, pinch of pink rock salt … shake violently 30 seconds … rest for 48 hours … cut with water 50/50 on the rocks … cures both common colds, and crying cock.

The best deal is Beer Lao. I'm sure the Cambodian beer in Laos is also good quality. My theory is the pride these people take in the best abilities of their home country. I went to see the new Cambodia brewery a few years ago and it was a super modern facility. Mainly German design. The beer is made from rice, which some people are allergic to. I guess the type of rice used has an added factor here.

There may be some rice in it, but the breweries in Cambodia import thousands of tons annually of barley malt. One particular brewery alone imports 1500 tons a month from Denmark/Germany. At normal ratios that's enough for about 7.5 million litres of beer.

I prefer any 5% ish lager, ideally European

But will drink local beers like Cambodia, Klasei, Anchor etc no probs

I am a volume drinker so Belgian beers are something I might have with a meal once in a bluey otherwise I may find myself kinda fucked the next day
