Been trying to get to Cambodia for 2 years now

Post by DannyP21 »

Hi all,

I was hoping for some help. For the last few years I have really wanted to get to Cambodia to start my photography studio, settle down find a beautiful woman and start a family. Since covid hit its been really hard to get into the country. Does anyone know a way to get around the business visa requirement? I would be open to getting hired somewhere and working for someone while I start my Business. Does anyone know if schools are willing to hire teachers who are presently in the country? I have been working on getting my tefl. Any info would be helpful!

Thank you!

While wishing you the best of luck, you might want to read some of the discussions on here regarding schools, especially bearing in mind that they have been closed for most of the last year.
So everyone knows at which level to pitch advice, have you been to/lived in/worked in Cambodia before?

If you have degree in education or degree in language you don't need tefl. If you dont, how you suppose to teach language at high level? Its Cambodia and doesn't matter right?
You need at least university degree in language and speak two foreign languages in the countries with high English language proficiency.

The guy wants to start a photography studio and is trying to get into the country.

Where did he say that he wants to "teach language at a high level"?

He is trying to get his tefl so that presumably he can try and get sponsored by a school in order to get a visa and enter the country.

[Mod edit: deleted sentence..no need for that]

Enrol in a college course and get them to send him a letter of invitation. G2K, the Khmer language school, might do him a letter if he stumps up $100 deposit for the level one course. He should check with his local embassy to see if that will suffice. Might work.

I want to know if he has even been to Cambodia before, because if not he's in for a very rude awakening.

Cleaned up this topic. Member bickering, baiting and name calling is a real turn off to participation especially on new member topics if they are genuinely seeking advice. Please be more cognisant of this.

There are TEFL courses you can enroll in (and pay for) and they will provide you the necessary supporting documentation required to apply for the E-type (Ordinary/Business) Visa...but please confirm with your relevant Cambodian Embassy/Consulate first, as the criteria varies from Embassy to Embassy.

Check out "Destination TEFL", they have been successful in having students enter the country.
