Street 143 and 396. It is actually on street 396 just 30 meters west of st. 143. Big clear sign on the building that says "Barber." I do not see it on google maps.

@Ravensnest thanks for the recommendation, I will check them out upon my return - haven't been able to get my haircut for over 3 months now, really bugging the shit out of me.

I used to highly rate Tokyo, but their standards have definitely dropped since Sothy moved back to the States, they're still leagues ahead of many other places though.

There was a great Khmerican barber in Boueng Tumpun who really knew how to cut a perfect fade and beard trim, but I saw him post on FB recently that he has had to close up shop which is a damn shame.

I like Tokyo also, but missing the old Vietnamese guy that used to be on riverside. Back there you got a decent 15-20 min head shampoo/head massage/facial before the cut, all included in the price for what was I think $7 back then - heck charge me $10 now, but bring it back! I haven't found anywhere since that does this. Tokyo's is a 2 minute bish-bosh shampoo with a quick shoulder rub which is fine, and the cut there better than any I had in all my years here.

But real men get their hair done like this.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Whelp, @Ravensnest

I ended up going to Tokyo because I hadn't seen your reply by that time..........I will check out your place next time around. :thumb:

Anyway, I actually got a pretty decent cut at Tokyo this time. The guy I had this time was not as timid and hesitant as the last guy.

Pretty funny though how the entire staff was decked out in MOPP level 4 hazmat gear.

Gloves, medical grade masks, face shields......etc.

As I closed my eyes to enjoy the zen-like solace that a relaxing haircut can bring, I couldn't get over the sound of his latex gloves...the smell and sound they made as he negotiated his scissors kept making me think I was in some BDSM dungeon.

So after a 1 minute shampoo, 10 second uninspired shoulder rub and haircut, the damage came to $10. I think when I said "Yes" to his query about a dab of hair gel, it upped my standard cut to a "style" cut.

Here's a pic:

I'll second that recommendation. It took me nearly 2 years of bad and worse haircuts before I found the place.

Do they powder your wig too Armchair?

Well, it was wig-splitting time again so I trekked out to this place and I'm very glad that I did.

This chap gave me an outstanding haircut. No chit chat, I just plopped down and he went to work like a seasoned pro. The insecure guys at Tokyo barber always ask 20 questions beforehand and then still fuck things up.

In the past, after a haircut from a Khmer barber I'd always end up with this weird cow-lick thing on the back of my head and they'd always fuck up the 'part'.

This guy is the second barber I've found in Cambodia who gave me a perfect cut. And all for the princely sum of $2.

I know where I'll be going from now on.

Thanks @Ravensnest :thumb:

Just visited this guy for the second time and the results were great once again.

So I guess the first time wasn't a fluke and this guy really can split my wig with great aplomb. :thumb:
